DIY Halloween Bats

DIY Halloween bats with dirty teeth and big scary colored eyes …
Pimp your living room with these ghostly Halloween bats and create a haunted house! They are easy to make with simple materials  and some ingredients from the kitchen.

Let’s get started. You will need:
some cardboard
a black marker
black paint
– a brush
scissors
hot gun glue
clay
– googley
eyes
a few grains of rice
– wooden skewers

Step 1
Draw a bat wing on a piece of cardboard and cut it out. Trace this wing on to another piece of cardboard and cut it out. Now you have two equally sized bat wings. Paint them black on both sides with acrylic paint and let them dry.

Step 2
Make a ball of clay and push some googley eyes in it. Make sure they stay in place. Stick a wooden skewer in to the bottom of the clay ball. Now put some shorter sticks on the sides of the ball for the wings. Let everything dry.

Step 3
Paint the clay ball and the wooden skewers black and let it dry.

Step 4
Glue the grains of rice under the eyes so that they look like teeth.

Step 5
Glue the wings on the short sticks and make sure they are stuck on well. You can now glue a zigzag pattern on the wings with the hot glue gun. Around the eyes you can also apply a line of glue, so you create a kind of eyelid and you ensure that they do not come loose. Be careful that the plastic of the eye does not melt.

Step 6
If necessary, decorate the wings with a silver pen. Your Halloween Bat is now ready. You can stick the wooden skewer in a plant pot, so it seems like your bat is fluttering between the plants. Spookey!
