In 2011 astronaut André Kuipers went in to the International Space Station. An impressive accomplishment. Inpired through space, rockets and stars our youngest pupils created a painting for André while he was in the International Space Station. We were able to send a picture of the art to him in space, via the European Space Agency.
Later that year we had a suprise visit from André in the studio, where he signed the original painting. He said while pointing to the painting:
Yes, I saw this picture on my laptop while I was in the space station. Nice to see it in real life.
When asked to sign the painting he said: “Are you sure?” Jocelyn: “Of course we are sure!”
