The February art exhibition that our youngest students made was all about Valentine. During the art classes the kids wrapped the heart shaped balloons full of paper-mashé. The more layers of paper and glue the stronger the hearts would be. After drying them all they were ready to be painted in some nice bright colours. And of course the (anonymous) message for their Valentine were painted on top. At this age, boy friends are not very popular. So most Valentine messages were for fathers, mothers, sisters, pets and even for the artists themselves. The hearts were then coated in a thick layer of glossy varnish to keep for ever and ever. I hope you were able to surpirse your Valentines with these wonderful hearts.
On our Youtube Channel, you can find out how to make these hearts at home and also some other Valentine art projects. Take a look at our Valentine play list here.
